¡Hola a todas! Esta manta de ganchillo multicolor es para mi hija. ¡Por fin la he terminado! Y estoy feliz por los dos motivos que os voy a contar ahora :o)
First of all, Im so glad I had the opportunity to take these photographs in one of the most marvelous place Ive ever been: the Hotel San Roque, a small boutique hotel in Garachico, in the north of Tenerife (Canary Islands) which perfectly combines colonial architecture, art and design, and where you can enjoy a really pleasant stay far away from rush and noise. All my gratitude to Carayon family, the hotel owners, Alejandro Morin, Commercial Director, and the staff of the hotel, for having kindly offered all the facilities and provided me everything necessary for the photo-shooting.
En primer lugar, estoy muy feliz de haber podido realizar la sesión fotográfica en un entorno realmente privilegiado. Se trata del Hotel San Roque, un pequeño hotel boutique en Garachico, al norte de Tenerife (Canarias) que combina a la perfección arquitectura colonial, arte y diseño, y donde es posible disfrutar de una agradable estancia alejada de prisas y ruidos. Todo mi agradecimiento a la familia Carayon, propietaria del hotel, a Alejandro Morín, su Director Comercial, y el personal del hotel por haberme brindado tan amablemente sus instalaciones y facilitado todo lo necesario para la sesión.
This is the first blanket Ive crocheted in this size and I wished to give it away to someone special for me. My daughter is very minimalist in color range and I wasnt sure at all shed like a multicolor blanket like this. But it turns out she loves it ...and Im so happy! :o)
Es la primera manta de ganchillo de estas dimensiones que hago y por ello tenía que ser para alguien especial para mí. Mi hija prefiere los colores sobrios y no estaba segura de que le fuera a gustar una manta con tanto colorido. Pero resulta que está encantada... ¡y yo más que feliz! :o)
The idea for this blanket came up while I was visiting ByHaafner blog where Ive found a beautiful blanket made in brown colors. It was love at first sight. However, I got a lot of remaining yarn: small amounts in very different colors, which do not give almost for nothing and wandering around my studio without a destiny. So I thought it would be a good idea to put them all in a blanket, but adding basic colors such as beige and ivory to unify everything.
La idea surgió visitando el blog de ByHaafner donde encontré esta preciosa manta hecha en gama de colores marrones. Me enamoré de ella a primera vista. Sin embargo, tengo mucho hilo remanente de otros trabajos: pequeñas cantidades de colores muy diferentes, que no dan para casi nada y que andan dando vueltas por mi taller sin un destino. Así que pensé que sería una buena idea utilizarlos todos en una manta, pero usando colores básicos como el beige y el marfil para unificar el conjunto.
My blanket details:
Material: Sport / 5 ply yarn
- 250 gr Beige color
- 150 gr Ivory color
- my remaining yarn color
Hook: 3 mm
Pattern: Ive followed the ByHaafner pattern you can find here.
Ive made the first three rounds in my remaining yarn colors, fourth round in beige, Ive added a fifth round also in beige and joined all the squares in ivory.
60 different color combination squares. Two squares in each color combination. A total of 120 squares.
Border: Ive simplified it: only 2 rounds.
Blanket measure: 120 x150 Cms (48" x 60")

Las tres primeras vueltas las hice en los colores remanentes, la cuarta en color beige, añadí una quinta vuelta también en beige y uní todos los cuadrados en color marfil.
60 combinaciones de color diferentes. Dos cuadrados de cada combinación de color. Total: 120 cuadrados.
Puntilla: La simplifique a tan solo 2 vueltas.
Medidas: 120 x150 Cms (48" x 60")
Actually, its very easy to do, the only difficulty was to combine small amounts of many different colors in a coherent way.
En realidad es muy fácil de hacer, la verdadera complicación estuvo en combinar todas las pequeñas cantidades de colores de manera más o menos coherente.
Ive enjoyed so much working in this project, so there will be more blankets in the near future.
