Enriqueciendo Enriching

¡Hola! A veces no os pasa que una prenda que os gusta sentís que está demasiado “vista”, sobretodo cuando la tienen en muchas tiendas o tiene un diseño o estampado frecuente.

Pues eso me pasaba con este vestido, que me encanta tal cual es, pero que he visto muchas veces ya sea con el mismo estampado (aunque confieso que nunca con el fondo negro) o tipo de corto. Además me queda bastante corto y ahora que llega el buen tiempo y las medias tupidas y las botas mosqueteras vuelven al ropero, me parece poco adecuado para acudir a mi trabajo.

Decidí aprovechar una cinta gruesa, en tonos de beige, blanco y arena para coserla al borde de mangas y falda, lo que visualmente lo alarga apenas un centímetro, pero sobre todo le da un toque más elaborado, distanciándose un poco de todos sus primos que recorren las calles.





A máquina fue tarea fácil y rápida, y el resultado me ha gustado mucho. A veces no necesitamos salir de casa para renovar algo, y podemos reciclar restos y retales que tenemos ya de otras prendas.

Hello! Doesn’t it happen to you, that sometimes you like some clothes but you feel that it is too popular, mainly when it is sold in many shops o its desing or pattern is too frequent.

That’s what I felt about this dress. I loved it the way it was, but I’ve seen it too many times in the same pattern (although never in black) or in the sam type. Moreover, it was too short for me, and now that dark panties and mosqueteer boots are back in the closet, I don’t consider it appropriate enough to assit my job.

I decided to take a thick piece of ribbon in beige, white and sand color to sew it to the end of the sleeves and the skirt, something that enlarges it just a centimeter. However it gives the dress a more elaborated touch, putting certain distance between it and all its “cousins” in the streets.

Making it with the sewing machine was an easy task, and I am quite happy about the result. Sometimes we don not need to go out to renew some things, and we can recicle pieces of clothes or make the most of some leftovers.
