Ganchillo II: símbolos / Crochet II: symbols

La semana pasada comencé una serie de entradas sobre ganchillo y después de la nomenclatura (aquí) toca repasar los símbolos.

Last week I started a serie of posts about crochet and after nomenclature (here) it is time to review the symbols.


Si la nomenclatura resulta confusa con los símbolos ocurre todo lo contrario: si sabemos como "funciona" podemos entender cualquiera de ellos.

If nomenclature is confusing, symbols are just the opposite: if we know how they "work” we will be able understand any of them.


Lo primero es reconocer los símbolos de cada punto:

The first thing is to recognize the symbols of every stitch:



Como veis, son símbolos formados por un solo elemento. Los símbolos complejos, con más de un elemento, indican como combinar los primeros:

As you see, they are symbols formed by a single element. The complex symbols, with more than an element, indicate how to combine the first ones:





En este segundo grupo de símbolos lo importante es la instrucción sobre como manejar los puntos. He escrito estas dos últimas tablas con puntos altos pero podría haber utilizado cualquier otro punto. Por ejemplo, dos medios puntos altos tejidos en el mismo punto:

In this second group of symbols the important thing is the instruction about how to handle the stitches. I have written these last two tables with double crochet stitches but I could have used any other stitch. For example, two half double crochet stitches into same stitch:

Igualmente, podemos encontrar las mismas operaciones para un número de puntos diferente. Por ejemplo, tres puntos altos cerrados juntos:

Equally, we can find the same operations for a different number of stitches. For example, three double crochet stitches together:

Para terminar nos quedan los símbolos que hacen referencia a otras acciones, como comenzar o terminar la labor, el anillo mágico, la parte del patrón que se ha de repetir, etc:

Finally, we have the symbols which refer to other actions, as beginning or finishing the craft, the magic ring, the part of the pattern to repeat, etc:




Aquí podéis descargar los listados completos con la simbología de ganchillo que he recopilado. En realidad hay muchos símbolos pero he escogido los más importantes y creo que suficientes para que podáis interpretar otros. Espero que os haya servido.
